February 2012

Here is our February, newest to oldest..reverse of January. Can't decide witch way to go. In the end of February we went to stay at Mommy and Daddy's and visit with all the family, the kids were so excited to go see grandma and G-pa! On our trip the little girls dressed up in beautiful Mexican Wedding Dresses for a photo shoot. They looked to cute and had a good time!
Little Bou was a little sad we could not get her to smile for the group picture. A few minutes after we too pictures she threw up. Clarissa said she threw up for the next few hours poor sick girl. But her individual pictures look cute!
Lacy always so photogenic.
Spicy Susan had fun getting her picture taken.
Beautiful Katie
We took the girls out to dinner before a baby shower. The theme was"Wear your fanciest dress" they loved it!
Another pretty view from the view out our window. This view is to the west and was taken at sunrise on a dark rainy morning when the sun was coming out and lighting the mountain. It was beautiful I am happy we don't have a neighbor across the street to block the view. It reminds me of another great view we had in San Diego when I could see the ocean on clear days out our west window.
There is Gordon needing some camera time. He kept saying" Gordon Picture the posing"
I love the look if the girls in curlers, we have been trying out a few more methoods of curling hair Saturday night, Katie's hair looked beautiful in the morning, Susan kept her curlers in for about 10 minutes!
I finished a project on my Bed. I sewed the 3 tier bed skirt and i love the way it turned out. the whole bed has been a project and now it is finally done!
We went on another day trip to the mountains, There was some snow on the ground and the kids had fun playing at the play ground. I love the photo of Gordon with the 5 cookies on his fingers.
Susan had fun making some Valentines and sending them in the mail.
This is Katie's "Heart Hair Do" the morning of Valentines day.
Here are some of my my Valentine decorations. I made a lot new things I really like the garland I made but cant find a picture now...maybe I will add it later. There was a garland at both East and West big Windows, on the mirror, the China Cabinet, and the chalk board, we were feeling very festive. I also remade a Valentine door hanger that my neighbor stole from me last year.
Happy February!

January 2012

January 2012
I did some crafting I sewed the 3 tier bed skirt.
While I am showing off the shirt let me tell you about the bed, Brian and I made the head board with salvaged wood, and salvaged foam. The fabric I bought when I worked in a fabric store in High School. I also sewed the gold pillows with the fabric. Brian made the bed stand (the head board used to have 2 reading lamps but he took them off). The bed spread was my parents a few years ago and the gold blanket is form Charmaine. The whole bed set and bed probably cost under $150.00. BTW there is another matching pillow not pictured.
Here is Gordon and I one Sunday morning, Katie took our pictures.

Susan gave Gordon a makeover with some "boy makeup"

In January the kids had winter break so we went to the park a few times. Kingman may be small and not have antiquate shopping but they do have great parks, I can count 5 new nice parks with grass and bathrooms! We went to a garage sale on the way to the park
and got a 7 bottles of bubbles for .25!
Gordon and Katie had a good time with them.
In January Brian introduced the kids to "lantern walks" Brian gets out one of his kerosene lanterns and each kid gets a flashlight and we go for a walk in the dark around the block. Or sometimes they go for a walk and I enjoy a quiet moment alone! We have also found the golf course across the street a fun place to go for a walk at night!

Early in the month we took the kids to Lake Havisu to see the London Bridge and have lunch. While we were there we found another great park and fed some seagulls and ducks at the lake.

During winter break Katie and Susan sewed some pajama pants.

4th Of July

August is not too late to post about the 4th of July right?
We partied hard this year! The kids decorated shirts.
We went to the Celebration of Freedom In Down Town Mesa.
For 2 nights the kids had so much to do!
We took the kids out to dinner to a little pizza place on Main.
The kids played on the blowup water slides
They got to play carnival games face paint
And check out Patriotic exhibits.
Down Town Mesa did a great job! the Church Members did a great job volunteering! and it was all free!! On Saturday they did fireworks. Living in San Diego seeing a fireworks show dozens of times from the closest possible spot, I thought I would never be impressed with another firework show BUT, I was wrong! Mesa did a scary good job...a little too scary. There was fireworks falling down right where we were! I think the unexpected wind and heat kept the embers burring too long. After the show the kids picked up some of the pieces.
Monday was the actual 4th of July. We went to Bass Pro ( the big sports, hunting & outdoor recreation store) It may kind of hill billy to go there and plan on not spending any money but we love it. We just to window shop, tour the boats and 4 wheeler, look at fishing equipment, shoot the toy guns at the interactive targets and feed the fish at the big indoor tank. It felt very American, it was free, and the kids love it!
Then we went to the dollar movie theater. We saw a cute kids movie called Rio, about a bird going to Rio, Brazil. Whats more American them Brazil? Then Mommy and Daddy
took us to Peter Pipper pizza for Dinner, and we were off to another Fireworks show. We got good seats to see the down town Tempe show.
The Jones Family, Wengers and Figgins all met up with us.
Tempe had the longest show ever probably 2 hours! we enjoyed Chocolate covered pretzels and soda during the show.

Happy 4th of July!
