Happy Birthday Grammy

Today is my Grammy's birthday every time I talk to her she tells me that she reads my blog. So for her birthday I will do 2 things she loves, blog and post pictures of my kids.

Let me tell you about my Grammy. She is my Daddy's Mama. That is what her 3 sons call her, Mama. She is a beautiful woman, my sisters Charmaine and Jenny look like her with dark hair, blue eyes and light skin. Grammy is very feminine I have seen her in pants probably 10 times in my life, she is almost always wearing a skirt and flat slip on shoes, usually silver. She always has her hair, makeup and nails done just right. She is very soft spoken and gentle. She loves, her family crystal, light blue, silver, hearts, Christmas, Santa, Jingle bells, her family, most of all she loves the Lord and the gospel. Every letter she sends she is sure to include her testimony, her love and to tell us she is praying for me. Knowing that she and my Grandaddy were praying for me everyday gave me a lot of comfort as I have grown.

Grammy is the best birthday gift giver EVER! I can always count on her to rem,ember my birthday! She always gives us a personalized card and money. When we were kids she would spell our name with dollar bills and quarters to match our exact age times 2! She must have spent hours planning out how to make that all work for her 20 something :) grandchildren. She now gives personalized cards to the in laws and great grandchildren. My kids especially love the cards the get, they carry the cards with them for weeks after their birthday.

She is a hard worker! Grammy and Grandaddy have served 3 couple missions Grandaddy was a mission president in France, then they served in the The Indian Ocean Mission (including Reunion, Madagascar, Mauritius, Zaire Africa, and Seychelle Islands) and they served in French Guiana. from all the stories about serving in French Guiana the hardest part for my Grammy was the bugs, lizards, frogs and the weather. I love my Grammy! and I am so glad to have her as an example to me! Happy Birthday Grammy I love you!...i will try to get more pictures, Katie's will not work right now.

Let me take you on a Tour

Our home was featured in the Mesa Historical Society Home Tour a few weeks ago. About 900 people came over to tour my home! It was very exciting for me. It felt like a huge accomplishment even though I didn't have to pass any requirements but I still consider it an achievement. Our Home is in a historical neighborhood and the tour is a fundraiser for the Mesa Historical Meuseum, we were invited simply because we live in the neighborhood, but still Awesome!!

It was a task to finish all the projects I have been wanting to, to set my home up just how I want it and keep it clean for that long! I dont hink my list of projects will ever really end (rightafter the tour I painted the chickent coupe and hung some art work above Gordons bed.) I did get a lot of projects done for the tour and that and bragging rights were the best part! So now let me take you on a tour of my home.

Susan Turns 4

Susan is the spice. She is hilarious. She says the funniest things and thinks she is so grown up.

She follows me around all day and says, "I go everywhere you go."

she is my buddy.

She tries to do everything herself.

Every friend she has over she says is her best friend or her best cousin friend.

She has cried everyday since she turned 4 because preschool has not started yet.

she wants to go to school so bad and misses Brain and Katie when they are away.

She loves her baby dolls and sometimes her baby brother.

She almost always sleeps in our room.

She has cute bangs because she has 2 nasty scars on her forehead.

her hair is so light almost white and shiny a natural halo

like the angel she is...most of the time.

Susan had a fun party with her family and friends.

I gave her the choice of every body over or everybody at the park or just Mommy and at first she chose to have the whole day with just mommy but I convinced her that she has just mommy all day so we should have everybody over. She had a great day and keeps asking when her next birthday is.

Halloween at the Jones home

The kids had a creepy time making pudding eyeballs for a FHE treat.

Oh Halloween Day we tried to Keep the Sabbath holy and fun, with the few extra minutes before church we took pictures.

Costume Parties

We had a fabulous Halloween. I passionately refuse to buy store bought, cheaply made, but still very expensive costumes. I prefer to make mine or thrift one.

Brian was Darth Vader. I made his shirt with applique and sewed his cape.

He loved the new Light Saber best of all.

Katie was the cutest bumble bee ever!

I thrifted her costume and made the pom-poms for her slippers and hair.

Susan was a purple fairy. Easy to please we had most of her stuff already.

Gordon was Yoda to match Brian.

I made his costume and was very pleased he kept his hat on most of the night!

After we had finished all the costumes. A neighbor called and asked if our girls wanted to match the teenage girls and let them take the girls trick-or-treating. I knew my girls would love that, so we borrowed costumes from Mardell (hers are also hand crafted :)and the girls got to wear 2 costumes for 2 parties. Today at 4:00

Today was cool day. not too cold at all, it is just starting to feel cool all day.

At 4:00 almost everybody was out side doing their own thing.

I was sweeping the porch.

yes we live in a BRIGHT pink house.

Brian wandered to the far end of the yard to make friends with a wild kitten. The kitten was more friendly then I have ever seen it. It kept rubbing up to Brian and letting it pet her.

Katie was spinning in her Halloween skirt.
(this was a few days before and actually prob 6:30..Susan was in the bathtub today at 4:00)
On this day she was helping me make dinner and set the table.
Mostly she kept sneaking bites of potatoes.


My favorite..Gordon was discovering dirt.

Crafting Ghost Family
